some people should get it, but they don't

the other day i picked up 7yo from school and was loading him into the van when the window of the giant suburban, sitting in the handicap spot next to us, rolled down. inside was the mom of an (able bodied) kid in my son's class. she had no placard, no plate... she had no reason to be parked there.

she was smiling, chatting on the phone and then after she got off the phone she started chatting to me. she told me how much her daughter adores my son. i was very happy that our kids are friends and that her daughter is open and caring about her friend with special needs.

but, i was floored and couldn't say anything. sometimes it's easier and less disappointing when people are ignorant jerks. i can be harsh with them. but here is a kind, blonde, light and shiny mormon, who cares about my son and yet, she is parked in the disabled spot for no reason, except to wait for her daughter.

she should get it.

but, she just didn't get it. at all.

good try, but no

had a placard. a temporary one. that expired a LONG time ago. i left a reminder note.

even more stupidity

i just don't have enough time in the day to take pics of all the abusers i see.

more stupidity

same old, same old. no plate. no placard. can't park between the lines...

yadda, yadda, yadda.

think before you park

this says it all.

GOT SOME 'SPLAININ' TO DO

These two go together.

This lady is parked in a disabled spot about 10 feet from the entrance to a place we go for therapy. She had no plate or placard and she was sitting in the car waiting for someone. Because she parked there... and all the other disabled parking spots were taken...

We had to park here...

The building we had to go to is the farthest building you can see in the distance. Trying to get a seven year old in a wheelchair safely through this busy lot to the access ramps is a total pain in the butt.

I really need to start carrying my video camera with me so I can tape every time I get into a run in with someone in a parking lot.

MORE, REALLY? YES!
