I actually found this picture on Flickr and borrowed it to illustrate the stupidity of some people. The guy that posted this picture had the following photo caption:
"Come on! I realize this woman is handicapped and if that meant she really needed half a parking spot to park, or get out of her car then that would be fine. But its just not the case here. I've seen her park perfectly and walk out of a perfectly parked car just fine, this is just obnoxious. I had to risk my bike falling on some hapless neightbor's car because of her stupid parking."
He's bitching about the way this woman parked when he himself has parked his stupid scooter in the wheelchair access, completely blocking access to the sidewalk and anyone who needs to use a ramp van. Smooth move, idiot.
And yes, I did leave what I just wrote as a comment on his photo.
Is it possible that people like the biker are so stupid that they think the white lines are just "extra" space? Like, a margin, or something?
ReplyDeleteapparently so, because this is how he responded to my comment:
ReplyDelete(JOHN) First off: When I lived here NOBODY had a wheel chair in this complex.
Second Off: I am actively working on the scooter. As in sitting with the scooter. working on it. Its either there or on the much narrower sidewalk. Or maybe in the road? Would that be better? Get some context before you start bitching. 15 hours ago
(MY REPLY) You said:
context doesn't matter. it isn't a parking spot whether you are sitting there or not. you are blocking access, i don't care who lived or didn't live there. it is still a ticketable offense no matter how you try to justify it.
